         1.      Definition

  Descriptive text is text that aims to explain, describe, or describe something. This something        can  take any form, be it an animal, object, location, and so on.

1)      Identification

Identification is the initial of a descriptive text which contains an introduction to the name of the object, the meaning of the name, location, history of its birth, or other general description of the object being described.

2)      Description

Section description is a detailed description from the author’s point of view.

Turmeric

Turmeric is one of the herbal plants that is easy to find. Indonesian people use turmeric as a spice in the kitchen and medicine. Turmeric has the Latin name  Curcuma Longa.

Turmeric stem height reaches 40-100 cm. It has pale green leaves 20-40 cm long and 8 cm wide. Turmeric leaves have a structure similar to fish fins. One stem of the turmeric plant produces 3 to 8 leaves.

Turmeric flowers are white or light yellow with a cone shape. The main part of this plant lies in the rhizome which is where the shoots grow. The rhizome is covered with brownish skin and the inside is dark yellow, orange yellow, or reddish-orange yellow to brownish.

Turmeric has benefits as an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, malaria medicine, stomach ache medicine, so it can reduce high blood pressure. You can grow this plant at home by breaking the rhizome into small shoots.

Elephant 

Elephants are mammals with a unique body structure. It has a trunk, a long nose that is useful for breathing as well as taking and putting food into the mouth. In addition, many male elephants have tusks, tooth-like structures that grow on either side of the trunk.

Elephants have a large body size and grayish color. Its weight can reach 8 tons or equal to 130 adults. The height of the small elephant starts from 1 meter, while the adult could reach 3-4 meters.

Elephant is included as one of the endangered species. Most of the elephant species that are still alive today come from Asia and Africa.

Positano 

 

Positano is a village and commune on the Amalfi Coast in Campania Italy. thanks to its position, Positano has a very mild climate, Mediterranean-type; winters in Positano are also very warm with a minimum temperature that almost never drops below 6°C degrees.

Positano has long summers, warm and sunny but often refreshed by sea breezes. Thanks to its cool temperatures and scenic beauty, Positano has become a vacation destination since the time of the Roman Empire, as evidenced by the discovery of a villa in the bay.

Its distinctive feature is the many steps that come from the top of the village, the steps connecting the upper district with the valley area. The main beach in Positano is Spiaggia Grande, Fornillo, La Porta, Fiumicello, Arienzo, San Pietro, Laurito and Remmese.

The Orangutan

 The Orangutan is a species of the ape; it has long arms and hands, with very long fingers. It is much larger than the ape, and some have been found about six feet high, when standing erect. It is capable of walking nearly erect; but the usual gait on the ground is like a cripple who supports himself on his hands, and draws his body forward. Its home, like the monkey family, seems to be on the trees. The hair is of a brownish red color, and covers his back, arms, legs, and the outside of his hands and feet. The face has no hair except whiskers on its side. He inhabits Malacca, Cochin China, and particularly the island of Borneo.

      5.      My Created Description Text

Drawing Lab 

The drawing lab is located in the southern part of the lobby which is about 100 m from the lobby. The drawing lab is located between 2 classes, namely the general class and drawing lab 1. In front of the drawing lab there is a badminton court.

The facilities in the drawing lab are 1 table and 1 chair for the teacher, 36 drawing tables, 36 student chairs, 3 fans mounted on the wall, 2 whiteboards on the front wall, and several cleaning tools such as brooms, dustpans and dusters.

The drawing lab is quite large. The color of the walls in this drawing lab is light brown and on one side of the wall is given a vocational accent. There are quite a lot of windows in this room, even though it has many windows, this room does not get enough light from the outside, due to the position of the room which is in the corner of the building so that it is closed by other rooms.

Ø  Productive

a)    Building Statics Module

This module is entitled Science of Building Statics, by Mawahib Effendy. I use this module to study building statics with analytics and graphics. The cover on this module is less attractive, because the design used is too simple and basic.

b)    Basic Module of Building Modeling and Information

This module is entitled basic module of building modeling and information, by Aulia Putri, Chilmi Nour A, Fidya PS, Dicky N, M Nur Fuan. I use this module to study material regarding design, modeling and building information. The design of this module is quite interesting because it uses several elements that can make readers interested.

c)     Building Drawing Engineering Module

This module is entitled Building Drawing Techniques, by Suparno. I use this book to learn things about drawing buildings, such as the different kinds of drawing tools, how to use drawing tools, texture drawing techniques, flat shapes, geometric shapes, and others. The cover of this module depicts several sketches of buildings with a blue background, and a yellow title, with a contrasting color that can be the center of the eye so that it makes the reader interested in reading and studying the module.

a)    Forward an English

This book is entitled Forward an English, by Shyla K. Lande, Eka Mulya Astuti. This book contains some material for learning English, but Mrs. Yuni rarely uses this book because this book is for reference only. The design of this book is quite interesting because of the color combination and several additions that are quite suitable to look at. 

b)    Indonesian Citizenship Education

This book is entitled Indonesian citizenship education, by Abdul Waidil, Ali Usman , Ahmad Asroni, Hatim Gazali Tedi Kholiluddin. This book contains several materials such as Pancasila, the constitution, Bhinneka Tunggal Ika and others. The design of this book is quite interesting because the color combination is good enough to make it more pleasing to the eye.

c)     Indonesian History Book

This book is entitled Indonesian History Book, by Gunawan, Amurwani, and Sardiman. I use this book to study the history of Indonesian history.  The design of this book contains several elements such as supporting images so it is quite interesting to look at. I studied this book about the history of Indonesia.

d)    Mathematics

This book is entitled Mathematics, by Arif Ediyanto and Maya Harsasi. I use this book to learn some math formulas and look for examples of math problems to sharpen the brain.

 

Ø  Paragraph About the Book Being Studied

There are several books and modules that I use for learning at school. productive learning in schools mostly uses modules in PDF format with various sizes, so they can be reached anywhere. This module can be printed to make it easier to study the existing material. Inside the module there are pictures that are interesting and easy to understand so that the material provided is easy to understand. The module material provided is in the form of basic building engineering lessons, building materials and informatics modules such as algorithms.

Apart from productive modules, there are also books for general learning, such as books on English, Indonesian Citizenship Education, Indonesian history, mathematics, and many more. Each book has a different design, showing the characteristics of the material contained in it. The color of the cover is quite attractive, so you can easily distinguish between existing books. The average size of books used for general lessons is 25.5 cm x 17.5 cm.
